News about Reopening

Small group activities that do not require catering can resume as of October 1. This includes, but is not restricted to, HotShots, Studio Painters, The Writers' Group, the Art of Conversation, playreadings . . .

  • For reasons of social distancing, you will be set up in either the Great Hall or the Studio.

  • All partipants must wear a mask except when they are addressing the group. The other exception is studio models, who may remove their masks while posing.

  • If your usual time of meeting is outside of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. hours, we ask you to consider moving the time, so that extra staff are not required. If this is not possible, we will do our best to work around your needs.

  • Because Public Health has a number of requirements about how we ensure social distancing, and for reasons of contact tracing, everyone planning to attend must register in advance through the members booking site.  When you call Matt Percy to confirm your date and time, your booking will be added to the calendar on the members' booking page so you can register. Please also discuss with him your needs in terms of set-up: do you want tables, would you prefer to be seated on chairs in a circle, or whatever would work best for your group.

  • Until catering service resumes for small group activities, please bring your own water or coffee.

While Toronto iremains under Stage 2 of COVID-19 restrictions, we will have to postpone opening to lunches and dinners.  We are hoping to reopen for TGIF on Friday, November 13; but more information will be posted here and announced in E-bulletins as the Health situation changes. Other lunch and dinner events will follow when the Club is open and the hosting groups are ready.

  • If you are planning to attend you must reserve in advance.  Because of social distancing requirements seating in the Great Hall must be restricted to 4 tables of 6 people; however, we can add one extra table in the LAMPSroom.

  • Masks must be worn except when eating or drinking, or if you are speaking to the group.

  • Payment will be taken at a table just outside the Great Hall (where the scrapbook normally resides) — credit, debit and Club cards please; no cash.

  • You can order a drink when you pay for your lunch and it will be delivered to your table.  Food will also be table service; buffets are off-limits for the foreseeable future.

  • Although you cannot visit from table to table at lunch or dinner, there will be area where you can meet afterwards to socialize. Wear a mask. Drinks are not permitted, unfortunately.

The rooms will be reconfigured to follow all the Public Health rules for safety. You will see floor decals to indicate traffic flow, the lounge and the coat room are closed (coats will be hung just inside the Great Hall entry to the lounge, creating a passageway to the elevator. The second floor will be closed unless you require special access. There will be protocols for washrooms and cleaning.

As more Club events come online, we will keep you posted via the e-bulletin and on this page. As you know, as we all gain more experience with navigating this strange world, thing will evolve, and any changes will be posted here, and circulated to Club members as soon as they are available.

Although the Club will look a bit different, we know that the food and the fellowship will measure up to what we all enjoy, and that members will bring the same sense of fun and creativity.
