Member Benefits

The Club is your home in downtown Toronto!  Feel free to come any time during opening hours.  You can participate in any or all of the arts-related events and discussions happening here, bring guests to meals and most events, and use the facilities of our reciprocal Clubs when you are out of town. You will meet people who are knowledgeable, interesting and engaged, and will make many new friends.

 

Membership Categories

Constitutionally, the Club maintains a majority of "Professional" Members  — those actively engaged in a branch of the arts, in either creative or management roles. When you apply, the Membership Committee will assess whether you are Professional Member or a Non-Professional Member However, this makes no difference to your status, privileges or fees at the Club.

Non-resident Members

If you live and work more than 50 km from the Club, you may join as Non-Resident Member, at a reduced fee.

How do I apply and how long does it take?

We require an application form, and normally ask for the support of two Club Members If you do not know two Club Members who can sponsor you, please contact us; we will be happy to discuss other options with you.

The process normally takes about month to six weeks, depending on when your application is received. As soon as a decision is reached, the Club will contact you, and the Membership Secretary will provide you with information about the various arrangements available for payment of fees.

Student Members

There is a special category of membership for full-time Students of any age who are studying in programs related to the Club's LAMPS disciplines: Literature, Architecture, Music, Visual Arts, Stage (including theatre performance, dance, stage management, and lighting/sound design, film, television or radio arts).

We require a student application form, along with proof of full-time studies. Also, tell us how your program relates to one of our five artistic disciplines. If possible, we ask that you be sponsored by a Club Member who knows you well. If this is not possible, please contact the Membership Secretary to discuss other options.

Your Sponsors

Please advise your sponsors once you have applied, so that they can ask for a sponsorship application from the Club business office. As noted above, if you do not know Members who can sponsor you, please contact us.
